Elocon – 0,1%- mometasone furoate LIMITED (mometasone furoate 0,1%) (Schering-Plough, USA) – is a new kind of molecular structure whose underlying base is a methylprednisolone containing chlorine in the 9 th and 21 – th position and the side chain ester double furanilkarbonovoy acid (furoate) in 17 th position. Just this side chain in the structure furoate Elocon determines its unique properties that distinguish it significantly from other corticosteroids . Compared with other topical corticosteroids similar group Elocon has high local activity that allows us to assign it to class 3 in potency, has a low systemic effects, and safety similar to the weak glucocorticosteroid , such as 1% hydrocortisone cream. Elocon distinguishes a particularly high tolerance: According to clinical studies, the use of the drug in 22,831 patients showed no side effects, with clinically and histologically there was no cases of skin atrophy even after long applied it to areas more than others affected by atrophy (skin of the face, ears, armpits) . In special tests showed that the drug npi application under occlusive dressing for 8 h only 0.7% of the drug is absorbed into the systemic circulation, indicating no effect on the hormonal system Elocon pituitary – adrenal axis .

Our data suggest that the cream Elocon gives the best effect in the presence of exudate, soak and large erosive surfaces on the skin. Ointment is more effective when Elocon allergodermatosis with marked lichenification, scaling and itching skin.
Thus, Elocon – a highly effective, safe topical corticosteroids and the latest generation of pharmacological properties closer to the ideal drug of choice for the topical treatment of allergic children.
